Lost four pounds this week...

I'm pleased. It probably coulda and woulda been more, but there were some slips. My mother's birthday was this week, so I had a slice of her cake. I tried to balance it with Silk light to get some protein in there.

Last night and tonight, I've had some wine. Overall, I've kept pretty close to my eating program--I say mine--not *the* program.

I decided not to go with the severity of the no-sodium, no-fat at all of the official program. I know from experience that the more radical the program, the less time I spend on it. So, I'm adapting. For one, I do use Pam to cook with, with the 6 Week Makeover Plan frowns upon. I'm also using my leftover NutriSystem items and working them into my eating plan. Some of them have quite a bit of sodium--another no-no on the Thurmon plan. But they're already here and paid for--and most of them balance the carbs with protein, so I figure it can't be that bad.

Anyway, I figure if I'd gone with the strict plan, I would've lost more. But, as I said, I know me--I would've dropped off the plan early and gained everything back plus more. This slow start may be the best idea--it's giving me time to get used to some of the changes gradually.

I've learned that I actually like fish. Not everything out there tastes like canned tuna! Schwan's has a seafood sampler that's killer. I baked four of the filets at once and froze them for meals during the week. They're really meaty while still being tender and the package comes with lemon pepper seasoning, so they were quite tasty. Between the fish and chicken, I'm really not missing beef and pork hardly at all.

I'll post again in a couple of days. This coming week, I start working in exercise!
